about a week ago, i went to a work party for the graduating seniors. each senior got to pick an under-classmen and “bequest a legacy”. i was feeling pretty unmotivated because of all the pressure/stress with school, grades, and a chance of not accomplishing a goal i’ve been working towards for three years now.. But at this work party, I found just the motivation I needed.
JD, my co-worker & USD football player, who is graduating this year, surprisingly had chosen me. I’ve not only worked with him, but this semester we had two classes together in which we’ve worked on papers and assignments together. I got to know him more and enjoyed working with him. ANYWAY, JD presented first and decided to “bequest the legacy” of inspiration because..
“you are always willing to help out in anyway you can. You are actively involved in organizations, and still get things done. Inspiration can be sparked from anywhere, whether you know it or not and you can easily inspire people everyday by just being oyu. You have sparked a little inspiration upon me and probably many others, just being you. Continue to work hard, and be yourself, and I believe the legacy of inspiration will continue through you.”
Sounds lame, but it really touched me and gave me that little push I needed to continue working towards my goals and not give up. This week I’ll be finding out what my summer plans are. Fingers are crossed and I’m really hoping my hard work this semester pays off, even if I had a little phase of downfall.
On a side note, after he presented this, no one wanted to go next, because it was just that damn good.
